Community Comes Together to Help GOSH

On Saturday 24th June at The Furlong shopping centre, Lara Faramus (Centre Supervisor) helped raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Lara spent the day in the Furlong courtyard handing out lollipops, balloons and cupcakes, all in return for a small donation to this worthy cause.

The event was a testament to the strong community spirit that Ringwood is well known for. The manager’s wife of the local toy shop – Toys of Ringwood – baked over 100 cupcakes and Boston Tea Party donated chocolate shortbreads and flapjacks for the event. Local business owner, Nicki from Balloonaray, blew up the GOSH balloons and these were given away for a small donation.

The Furlong shopping centre Supervisor, Lara Faramus, who organised this event says; “I was really touched by the generosity and good will of all our customers and local businesses.”

This first event raised over £156 and there will be more fun-raising activities taking place at The Furlong until the end of June.
