Congratulations to all the stores from The Furlong shopping centre who took part in the annual Pumpkin Carving competition. The Mayor of Ringwood, Tim Ward, and his wife Jane kindly took time out of their busy schedule to judge all the entries. The standard of creativity and execution this year was really excellent.
Tim comments; “Choosing a winner was extremely difficult. All the entries were brilliant for different reasons. I chose my winner because it was a traditional take on a pumpkin carving with a humorous twist (the disembodied arm!). I also had to give a special mention to Callula Beauty for their ingenuity – I’ve never seen anything quite like it! Above all today demonstrated the strong community spirit that prevails in Ringwood”.
The winners were announced as follows:
1st place: Furlong Furniture
2nd place: Grants of Ringwood
3rd place: Holland & Barrett
Then “highly commended” went to Callula Beauty.
Well done everyone!
